Rana el Kaliouby
Pioneer of Emotion AI, Rana is Affectiva’s co-founder and CEO. She invented Affectiva’s emotion recognition technology and is leading our innovations in Emotion AI. An Inc. magazine columnist and recipient of numerous awards, Rana is frequently covered in leading publications and is a sought after speaker on topics of AI, ethics and workforce. She is a passionate advocate for women in STEM and has a PhD from Cambridge University.
Tim Peacock
Tim is Affectiva's Chief Operating Officer and VP of Engineering. He built Affectiva's engineering team from the ground up and led the team to create the world's first Emotion AI platform, turning MIT research into products used by Fortune 100 companies. As COO, Tim oversees Affectiva's data driven planning and decision processes. Prior, Tim spent 8 years at Lotus, where he led development of Lotus 1-2-3. He is a proud MIT alum.
Gabi Zijderveld
Gabi is our CMO. She created the new technology category of Emotion AI and positioned Affectiva to dominate this space with a successful marketing strategy, including high volume press coverage to drive industry awareness. Gabi also leads our product strategy to deliver on our multi-modal vision. She has over 20 years of product management and international experience at leading tech companies including Dragon Systems and IBM.
Andy Zeilman
As VP Business Development and Strategic Alliances, Andy leads Affectiva’s growth strategy and adoption of its core technologies through strategic partnerships. Andy heads up our automotive business, as well as the go to market strategy for other key growth sectors for Affectiva. Prior, Andy was at Nuance Communications where he led the Enterprise Division's Global OEM Team. He also served as a Special Agent in the FBI.
Paula David
Paula is VP of Sales and Sales Operations. Prior to joining Affectiva in 2010, Paula served as Business Operations Analyst for WebEx, where she managed sales and business operations of WebOffice, a $20M business unit within Cisco Systems. Paula has held a variety of sales, marketing, and operation leadership positions building successful startups in Boston. Paula holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certificate from SHRM.
Jay Turcot
Jay is Director of Applied AI and leads our team of machine learning researchers, focused on bringing to market our core emotion technology. Jay guides our data acquisition and annotation strategies, and development of new deep learning techniques to improve the robustness, speed and accuracy of our emotion models across vision and speech modalities. He has a graduate degree from the University of British Columbia.
Jason Krupat
As Director of Strategic Innovation, Jason continuously explores, ideates and designs new and innovative applications of our core Emotion AI technology - both in B2B and B2C use cases. Jason is inventor and product manager of Happy.cam, a new Affectiva product concept that transforms traditional notions of mood tracking. Jason has launched over 50 products in his career and ran Yahoo! Games, Yahoo! Music and Yahoo! Entertainment.
Toby Cabot
Toby is our Chief Software Architect, so he makes sure that our systems run well and integrate cleanly. He built the first-ever architecture for cloud-based and real time on-device emotion detection software - and brought this to scale. He's now building frameworks for speech and multi-modal emotion detection and our happy.cam social network.
