Rana el Kaliouby
Rana is CEO and Co-founder. At MIT, Rana spearheaded the applications of emotion-sensing and facial coding. She was recognized by Entrepreneur as one of the “7 Most Powerful Women To Watch In 2014”, inducted into the “Women in Engineering” Hall of Fame, and recipient of Technology Review’s “Top 35 Innovators Under 35” award. Rana holds a Ph.D. from the computer laboratory, University of Cambridge.
Tim Peacock
Tim is COO of Affectiva. He has over 25 years experience leading product development, product strategy and management, engineering, and operations. Over the last 17 years, Tim has built and led engineering teams at SaaS startups including ChoiceStream, Sermo, DirectoryM and Intranets.com. Prior, Tim spent 8 years at Lotus, where he led development of Lotus 1-2-3. Tim has a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT.
Gabi Zijderveld
Gabi is our CMO. She also heads up our product strategy and developer evangelism. She has a track record of success leading new product launches, go to market strategies, international marketing and channel management. Prior to Affectiva, Gabi held leadership roles at IBM, MRO Software, Segue Software, Centra, Be Free, Dragon Systems and ON Technology. Gabi has a graduate degree in Art History from Utrecht University.
Andy Zeilman
As VP, Business Development & Strategic Alliances, Andy is responsible for accelerating adoption of Affectiva's technology in expansive new markets through strategic partnerships. Andy's professional experience includes roles in business development & sales, software product management, marketing, consulting and investment banking. Immediately prior to Affectiva, Andy was at Nuance Communications where he led the Enterprise Division's Global OEM Team. Before Nuance, Andy worked in Product Strategy & Marketing roles at Oracle, diCarta (the pioneer of the Contract Management market, acquired by IBM) and WebCT (the leading e-learning platform provider, acquired by BlackBoard). Andy also served as a Special Agent in the FBI. Andy received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his M.B.A from Babson.
Paula David
Paula is VP of Sales and Sales Operations. Prior to joining Affectiva in 2010, Paula served as Business Operations Analyst for WebEx, where she managed sales and business operations of WebOffice, a $20M business unit within Cisco Systems. Paula has held a variety of sales, marketing, and operation leadership positions building successful startups in Boston. Paula holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certificate from SHRM.
Jay Turcot
Jay is Director of Applied AI at Affectiva. With 10 years of experience working in computer vision and machine learning, Jay leads the team of researchers building and analyzing Affectiva’s core emotion recognition technology. Prior to Affectiva, Jay worked at Evolution Robotics Retail. Jay has a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia and a B.ASc in Systems Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Jason Krupat
Jason heads up strategic alliances, innovation and product management for Affectiva. Jason has launched over 50 products in his career as CEO of Pazow!, Director of Product at Paint Nite, Executive Producer for Game Show Network and while managing product / creative teams at Microsoft, WebTV, iWin and others. Jason also spent 4 years at Yahoo! where he ran Yahoo! Games, Yahoo! Music and Yahoo! Entertainment.
Toby Cabot
Toby is our Chief Software Architect, so he makes sure that our systems run well, and integrate cleanly.  He's been building large-scale high-volume transaction processing systems longer than he'd care to remember, for companies as small as two-person startups and as large as the Bell System.  He's worked on many healthcare IT systems, and many others that move money from place to place.
